Valerie San Filippo is a writer and educator from Long Island, New York. She is the Education Program Manager at Brink, where she creates writing and comic curriculum, and teaches storytelling in justice-impacted communities. She currently lives in Denver with her husband, their 150 pet cherry shrimp, and several stray cats who now live on their porch.​
Valerie received her MFA in Fiction from Stony Brook University, where she taught various classes on Fantasy and Surrealism. Her fiction and poetry has appeared in PANK, F(r)iction, TSROnline, Noble / Gas Qtrly, and others. She is a recipient of George R.R. Martin's Miskatonic Scholarship, and is a graduate of the Odyssey Writing Workshop.
